Facilities

We provide leading shipyards and industrial facilities throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska to handle projects large and small. Vigor Industrial companies offer ten drydocks, more than 17,000 feet of dedicated pier space; and more than half a million square feet of covered shop area. Across more than 120 acres of land, we operate more than 50 cranes including a 600 ton gantry traversing our oversized Portland buildway.

Vigor Industrial companies have the right-sized shipyards, leading facilities, excellent intermodal connections and expert workforces to build, repair and modernize just about anything for sea or for land.

Vigor Facilities in Seattle, WA

In Seattle, US Fab, Vigor Marine and Vigor Shipyards build, repair and modernize vessels on three floating drydocks with up to 18,000 long ton capacity, on six piers, with 12 cranes and in extensive indoor assembly, machine and paint shops.

The expert craftspeople here have built and maintained hundreds of ships for the U.S. Navy, dating back to early 20th century submarines. We’ve already built more ferries here than any other firm for the largest system in the United States; we’re now building a ninth for Washington State Ferries to carry 144 cars and 1500 passengers. And in the heart of the Pacific Northwest fishing fleet, we provide a full range of services for the full scope of passenger, fishing and all types of cargo vessels, workboats, tugs, barges and more.

Our Seattle teams are experienced Arctic support specialists for both the commercial and government sectors. Our Harbor Island yard is a prime maintenance center for the U.S. Coast Guard, from major overhauls of all Hamilton Class High Endurance Cutters in the mid ‘80s and early ‘90s, to multi-year contracts for the Coast Guard’s medium icebreaker USCGC HEALY, to our work to put America back in the heavy icebreaker business with the USCGC POLAR STAR by 2013 and, pending approval, the USCGC POLAR SEA soon thereafter.
