Offshore Patrol Cutters
We're preparing to build the future with the U.S. Coast Guard: the Vigor Offshore Patrol Cutter (V/OPC).
Vigor Industrial companies in national and global partnership with leading naval architects and engineers are planning a unique design-build solution for the Coast Guard's OPC. The V/OPC will offer the nation optimal sea-keeping performance and optimal cost.
OPC will be the largest single acquisition program in the agency's history. Valued at more than $8 billion, the OPC project will replace aging 210 and 270 foot cutters with 25 vessels over a period of 15 years. Additional information about OPC is available from the U.S. Coast Guard Acquisition Directorate.
Our expert teams have been working for more than two years to develop our uniquely capable and affordable Offshore Patrol Cutter solution. Based on a proven, world-class vessel design, the V/OPC leverages more than 350 years of Coast Guard operational experience to ensure the highest level of mission effectiveness. We are teamed with CDI Government Services as lead design agent and Integrated Logistics Support provider.
As we move forward with V/OPC, we continue to seek additional exceptional teammates who can also demonstrate proven performance, ability to meet demanding OPC requirements and offer the U.S. Coast Guard and the nation a reliable commitment to providing an integrated, affordable, and effective Offshore Patrol Cutter solution.
Vigor is a long-time trusted supplier to the U.S. Coast Guard. All eight of the 378 foot High Endurance Cutters overhauled by Vigor's Todd Pacific Shipyards under the 1990's FRAM program are still in operation. In addition, Vigor sustains the Coast Guard's high-latitude capability through multi-year maintenance contracts for USCGC HEALY, USCGC POLAR SEA and USCGC POLAR STAR. Our support of the HEALY has enabled more than 11 years of successful Arctic science and logistics operations. Vigor Shipyards is currently executing critical maintenance and modernization work on the POLAR STAR that will enable the vessel to return to service in early 2013.
Vigor Industrial's US Fab subsidiary builds quality vessels and barges for both commercial and government customers in Portland and in Seattle. We have a proven track record of delivering quality vessels to government agencies on time or early, on or under budget and free of disputes. Most recently, we delivered three 64-car ferries for Washington State Ferries (WSF), the largest ferry system in the nation. We have just begun construction of a new 144-car ferry for WSF.
Vigor Industrial companies each provide proven program management experience, developed through decades of supporting the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy, while ensuring a level of customer responsiveness that only a Tier 2 shipyard can provide.
