Passenger Vessels
Our US Fab subsidiary is the prime shipbuilder for Washington State Ferries--the largest ferry system in the United States and the fourth largest worldwide. We recently delivered the third of three award-winning 64-car ferries, under budget and ahead of schedule.
We're currently building the first of two 144-car ferries for WSF. The vessels will be 362' from bow to stern, be over 80' wide and carry up to 1500 passengers.
At Alaska Ship & Drydock our workers have experience building small to large ferries, including the innovative M/V Susitna and efficient M/V Ken Eichner II. We are also looking to build the next vessel for the Alaska Marine Highway System.
Our expert shipbuilders craft passenger vessels from steel and aluminum. To metric or imperial measure. To whatever classification or standard our customers require. And our Vigor Marine subsidiary is ready to maintain, modernize and upgrade existing vessels to the same exacting standards.
