Kvichak Marine Industries and Vigor Industrial Combine to Draw Larger Projects and More Jobs to the Northwest
Kvichak Marine Industries and Vigor Industrial today announced the companies are merging to unite their strengths in the design and fabrication of aluminum workboats, shipbuilding, and boat building.
On March 3, Vigor will begin a new era in cruise ship repair on Swan Island with the arrival of the 2,300 passenger Norwegian Star, owned by Norwegian Cruise Line. Recently, Dave Byers, vice president of ship repair in Portland, discussed the project with Marine Log.
Vigor Alaska is building two Day Boat Alaska Class Ferries for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS), which marks the first time that ferries for the state of Alaska are being built in Alaska. The ferries were featured in an article in the January 2015 issue of MarineNews.
